mom bloggers kick butt!!
Mom blogs have become my quilting bee.
I thought mom blogs were about diapers and binkies and martinis at noon. I envisioned many rants, all heavily flowered with exclamation marks and emoticons. I pictured day time talk show rhetoric mixed with self -indulgent babble. I thought I would be underwhelmed and unimpressed. As it happened, three seconds into my intro to blogging and I got my butt kicked with awesomeness & kindness (enter emoticons here!!)
These are women committed: to their families, their well-being, their integrity, (ok, occasionally to that afternoon martini, after all) but mainly to this incredibly community of blogging.
I am so inspired by these women - with their early morning group runs and unapologetic insistence on accepting only the healthiest choices. I admire their advocacy on behalf of their children and the virtual hugs that come just when they are most needed.
There is something so reassuring in finding a blog at 2am written by another mom the previous day about exactly how to angle the barf bag to cover the largest amount of space.
Or learning yours is not the only kid on the block that won’t kiss you in public anymore but still wants to sleep in your bed at night.
Or to be able to delight with others the fact that your son thinks his crossed eyes are really a super power given just to him…. allowing him to see double (why else would eyes cross, right?).
These are women – without any agenda – generously sharing their time and resources and essentially, their lives, with us all.
These blogs have become my Google, my grandma and Mrs. Brady (with Alice, of course) all rolled up into one awesome bundle and I am privileged to have been invited into their lives.
I started my blog when I decided to stop blaming my *thyroid* issues for making me eat copious amounts of pizza and chips. I have read every book, clipped every article and still cannot seem to make sense of a very simple concept – live healthily. Occasionally it resonants with others.

Hi Marci!
Your blog was pretty soothing for my soul. I liked it. I also enjoyed your profile description. And just for the record, a nice martini at noon would be amazing if I didn’t have 3 mouths to feed…at the same time!
Cheers xx
Thank you for writing this…your blog has inspired me to start sharing, despite my lacking writing skills. But, that isn’t what it is all about, it is about sharing. Well done!
